Physical Treatments
Comprehensive assessment
Comprehensive health assessments include the patient’s history, a physical examination, and vital signs. This is used frequently during regular health visits and preventative care situations. Focused health assessments are more detailed assessments that relate to a current medical condition or patient complaint.
Alcohol and drug detoxification
Detoxification or detox is when a person removes all traces of drugs and alcohol from their body, ensuring that they are physically stable to seek addiction therapy. Our medical team will be supporting the client during this process.
Psychosocial Treatments
Cognitive behavioural therapy
Treatment is focused on how thoughts and beliefs influence your actions and moods. It often focuses on clients’ current problems and how to solve them. The long-term goal is to build thinking and behavioural patterns that help the client to achieve a better quality of life.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in the client’s present behaviour. The goals of psychodynamic therapy are client self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behaviour. A psychodynamic approach enables the client to examine unresolved conflicts and symptoms that arise from past dysfunctional relationships and manifest themselves in the need and desire to abuse substances.
Acceptance and commitment therapy
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is an action-oriented approach to psychotherapy that stems from traditional behaviour therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy. Clients learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with their inner emotions and, instead, accept that these deeper feelings are appropriate responses to certain situations that should not prevent them from moving forward in their lives. With this understanding, clients begin to accept their hardships and commit to making necessary changes in their behaviour, regardless of what is going on in their lives and how they feel about it.
Schema Therapy
This approach is designed to meet the formidable challenges of challenging difficulties within addiction. The method combines CBT and explores self-defeating patterns. This method will also help the individual to address challenges around co-dependency.
Anger Management
Anger management is a method based on CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). This involves finding new ways to handle challenging situations. Clients will be supported to get a better understanding of how thoughts, feelings and behaviours work together and to be able to divert from an impulsive behaviour to a more controlled and productive outcome. Clients are supported in the process of challenging thoughts and trying new behaviours. The process enables the individual to understand that when one can control impulses, one is able to avoid conflicts improving relationships with himself and others.

Motivational interviewing (MI) is a counselling approach. It’s a directive, client-centred counselling method that is used to elicit behavioural changes, by helping the client explore and resolve ambivalence. This method is focused and goal- directed.

Coaching is a professional relationship between the coach and client person, clients get help to achieve personal or professional goals in an effective way.
In coaching, we assume that everyone is an expert in their own life and has the best answers within themselves. We also assume that everyone has the power required to change what they want. In coaching, we focus on solutions and opportunities, and we highlight every client’s unique potential.

Social skill training
A therapy form with focus on social skills, and helps the client to go in depth to understand their own behavioural and how the client can change unwanted behaviours. The client gets help to identify and train on both easier and advanced skills.
12-step recovery coaching
12-step group and individual meetings. Clients are encouraged to engage in socialising with other peers in recovery. 12-step recovery and gaining the tools that will help to maintain a sober life.
Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation teaches clients about their illness and how they’ll receive treatment. Psychoeducation also includes education for family, and friends. Coping strategies, problem-solving skills and how to recognize the signs of relapse is the primary focus. Family psychoeducation can often help ease tensions in the home and benefits the clients recovery.
Relapse prevention
Relapse Prevention is a skills-based, cognitive-behavioural approach that requires patients and their mental health counsellors to identify situations that puts the person at greater risk for relapse.
Group therapy
Group therapy can help address feelings of isolation and help people gain insight into their mental health condition. All therapy forms of individual treatment list is also used in group therapy.

Tension and Trauma Releasing Therapy TRE
TRE is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return to a state of balance.

This is a deeply relaxing and effective treatment method for managing pain, stress, anxiety, physical and mental tensions. Art therapy is a tool to help clients interpret, express, and resolve their emotions and thoughts. Clients work with an art-therapist to explore their emotions, understand conflicts or feelings that are causing them distress, and use art to help them find resolutions to those issues.

Meditation and mindfulness therapy
